To simplify each page, we converted the original javascript rollover in the navigation menu to a set of Cascading Style Sheet buttons consisting of link, hover, active, and visited states and dynamically loading them through a Server Side include; thereby removing a minimum of 7K/page for the JavaScript and 141K/page for the menu.
To further compensate for the larger image and expedite the loading of this page, we used Cascading Style Sheets to lay out the page in three rows that will load independently with the header being first and including only 8 files of a mere 39K in size. The table borders were left on intentionally so as to demonstrate the layout of the page and emphasize those areas better utilized by additional content.
